Our Pinewood students entered a Sooper Yooper Environmental Defender art contest!  Emma Bywalter and Adam Williamson were honored at the Grand Rapids Art Museum's Cook Auditorium as winners!  Both fifth grade artists won $100.00! Super job!

photo.JPGOur student teacher Miss Jess Engel has taken over most of our lessons!  She is a very talented student teacher from MSU, who will be working with both Sandy Hill and Pinewood Elementary until mid December!





The second grade artists are making figures in movement that are inspired by Keith Haring.

Look forward to seeing artwork in the hallways!  First grade students made owls out of clay, fourth grade made very creative drawings from lines, third grade has artwork inspired by Aboriginal art, fifth has radial op art designs & sixth has symmetrical art made from names!

Our Pinewood students help create the artwork that surrounds the Grand Rapids Children's Museum!  During art class they painted 5 of the 200 wooden sculptures that now surround the building!  Be sure to check it out!
