Dear Sandy Hill Families,
We are fast approaching our second annual ArtMoves, art leasing event, in Jenison!  In case you’ve missed the buzz about this cool event, the idea behind ArtMoves is that local businesses will have the unique opportunity to lease a piece of juried student artwork to hang in their business for an entire year.  There is a flat $100 leasing fee per piece of artwork.  We hope to canvas our entire business community with our talented student work.
Our very own talent artists, Peyton F.(first grade), Glevince M. (fourth grade) and Marina DJ will be three of the artist with work on lease!
On the night of the event, business owners or representatives will have approximately an hour to peruse the student work. Then at 6:00, they can lay claim to their favorite piece.  At the end of the year, the piece will be returned to the student.  All the proceeds from the ArtMoves event will go back into the program to sustain the annual event.
If you have any questions, or are interested in leasing an artwork for a business, please feel free to contact Donna VanderPlas or Nate Greenwood.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Streelman- Dismukes

Thank you to everyone who helped with the Kid's Art Fair!
Thank you.......

Sandy Hill teachers helped collect RSVP forms & made room in the halls for the artwork!
Sandy Hill office; Mrs. Bowman & Ms. Keehn made sure all parents were aware of the show. All students were invited!
My awesome volunteers helped with everything!  Danielle Golish & son Caleb, Naomi Goedert and son Will, Amy Heffron, Jess Engel, Mrs. Jackie, and Rebbeca Ryan.  We couldn't have had the art fair without you!
We made almost $  300.00 and had about 80 families come to see our art show!

What is creativity?  Why is it important?

Sandy Hill will be having an art show/Kid's Art Fair on February 27th.  All of our students will have an artwork hanging in the the halls of Sandy Hill!  Students who have sent me an RSVP will have art framed & hanging in a special GALLERY area!

Parents can have their child's art framed the night of the show.  A portion of the proceeds will fund our art supply budget, so that our students have the opportunity to use materials that expand their art experience at Sandy Hill!

Go to kidsartfairs.com for more information on the Kid's Art Fair fund raiser!

Thanks! Mrs. Streelman- Dismukes

Sandy Hill sixth grade classes (Mr. Mroz and Mrs. Cullin)  made these to inspire the love of reading in our school! Analogous color schemes were used in a paper collage, and multimedia design.  Each student created at least one of the paper "tiles".  Beautiful work sixth graders!!!

Pinewood sixth grade students from Mrs. Pope's class made a CATS mural to inspire students to be respectful, responsible, and safe! Photographs of students, paint, markers, pastels, crayons, and colored pencils were incorporated into the paper collage. Good job students!
