Kindergarten students created an apple made from ripped paper, construction paper crayons & glue! Students wrote on the "black board", just like a teacher would!
Third grade students painted an abstract painting of their name, using complementary colors!
Fourth grade students studied Georgia O'Keefe. They painted artwork that used a "bug's eye" point of view. Composition, placement of objects, overlapping and texture were the concentration.
This year, students are competing to see who can be the quietest! We are using "My Class Rules", a decibel measuring app on the I-pad. Working quietly improves the quality of artwork in our class!

Welcome back to school! Sandy hill students are creating a Collaborative Mural on our first week back! First through Fifth grades have been painting with a variety of the Elements of Shape, Line and color.
Students were asked to write down what they wanted to learn this year, so that I could begin to introduce more student choice into my classroom! Their answers are on the back wall of the art room!

Dedication to Kathy Keehn
Staff and students all contributed to an artwork that was dedicated to our principal, Kathy Keehn. She has served as principal for Sandy Hill for 15 years! She will be retiring at the end of this year!
Students created the paper pieces & staff painted the background, trees and houses!
